Observation # 2

The Aeolipilae is the Greek word for ‘a wind orifice’, a vase with a wide base that is filled with water and put on a fire. The vase has a narrow opening with which to allow the steam of the heated water to escape. It was used to determine which way the wind was blowing.

The thing with wind is, you can’t count on its direction to be constant. If left to the wind on its own, the steam coming from the opening would be forced by the wind itself to continue in the direction the wind is blowing.

If someone other than the wind blew the steam creating an artificial direction that direction could be controlled. Therefore, to have a constant effect of direction the person and/or mechanism blowing would have to blow constantly unless the characteristics of the steam changed. If the steam was less elastic, one blow of a particular force could send the steam in the intended direction. But the characteristics of steam are not as such to make this happen.

So what about the human value system was compared to steam? How gaseous, elastic or plastic is it? How much effort does it take to persuade the opinion of a human, its culmination of a particular individual’s value system and experiences? How much effort does it take to persuade the opinion of a Canadian, for example? How about Albertans, Ontarians or a Newfoundlander? How much effort does it take to persuade Vancouverites, individuals in Yellow Knife and Halifax or Windsorites?

This depends on the value systems of each demographic population of those cities, regions and provinces. For a political party to win nationally, a leader of a political party has to appeal to the lowest common denominator of the whole country, which basically makes all the political parties the same if they are interested solely on the power to be in or stay in power.
This gives credence to having the provinces and territories into 10 separate nations, unified under a Canadian Union.

It seems Albertans want to impose a "stricter" form of governance that doesn’t seem to fit the collective psychology of Ontarians. And Ontarians are collectively mistrustful of Albertans politics because of the actions of the previous Conservative government under Mike Harris that resulted in the deaths of Ontarians, amongst other difficulties.

The Liberal government ceded that if Ontario was its own country it would be the fifth richest in the world. This is a good case for Ontario’s separation from Confederation because it confirms we can survive on our own. It also is a case to question why Ontario would continue to give money to a federal political party that disobeys its own Constitution by channeling money to it selves.

If lawyers were given appointments to the bench to ensure that legislation such as the Clarity Act gets passed or Charter rights are denied to ensure for example, women are paid equally to men regardless of budget constraints, which very well could be depleted because of government corruption and mismanagement, then challenges to that legislation that are upheld on the governments favour could be viewed as systemic interference to influence political decisions.
